Sorry if this isn't the right place to write-up this question, however as a constant here this felt prefer the place to gain a directly answer.

You are watching: How long is a spiral ham good for in the fridge

We make a pre-cooked spiral ham because that Christmas, and also had gorged top top leftovers for several days. There's still a bunch left, however we're not sure how long this stuff will store in the fridge.

Online searching has actually yielded answers ranging from 3-5 days to 28 days come forever and also ever and also a day.

Obviously freezing will make the last also longer, yet if we're past the point of no return in the fridge the suggest is moot.

What's the exactly answer, assuming the we have indeed been maintaining the leftovers in a sealed ziplock bag in a properly kept fridge?

there are too countless variables come come up with a an accurate answer. Time in ~ ambient temperatures, just how well covered, etc. Use your senses. ~ do so you are hungry and you've simply come across this ham. Odor it, feel it for sliminess. Put some in a pan, is there a sour smell or simply hammy goodness? Also, we have no means of discovering for sure the conditions it was exposed to before we got it, if the was already at the end of that is shelf life or much fresher, etc.... The best answer is to use your judgement and shot to psychic to freeze leftovers previously next time!

I'm guessing friend bought the ham in a sealed package, and you just warmed it up in the oven, right?

It was likely pasteurized inside of that vacuum seal in ~ the factory, giving it a relatively long shelf life as long as the package isn't opened. Hence the answers on the internet suggesting a month the shelf life.

Once opened, the within is no much longer sterile and its shelf life is shortened drastically, especially if it's to be warmed increase once and then returned to the fridge. As soon as this wake up it have to be treated favor fresh meat, and its for sure shelf life is generally about a week, maximum.

Sorry, it's time come throw that ham away.
