Many the the net pages on this site mention the Homer Laughlin China Co, but for a variety of years, there to be a 2nd pottery in Newell; The Edwin M. Knowles China Company.Edwin M. Knowles, displayed at right, started his pottery firm in Chester, West Virginia in 1900. He later increased into Newell in 1913. Both places made Knowles dinnerware until the beforehand 1930s once Harker took over production at the Chester plant. The Newell plant ongoing to make dinnerware till 1963.
